- 21 May: 12 members left Maldivian Democratic Party and created a New Party called "The Democrats".[1]
- 21 June: Mohamed Nasheed leaves MDP after 18 years.[2]
- 28 June: Maldives eliminated from semi-final round for the first time in Maldives SAFF history.
- 6 August: Yameen was Disqualified from 2023 Maldivian presidential election due to his Terrorism Financing sentence.[3]
- 28 August: Hussain Adam's father passed away.[4]
- 9 September: 2023 Maldivian presidential election: Maldivians head to the polls to elect their president.[5]
- 10 September: Maldivians vote for a president. No candidate receives a 50% majority, so incumbent President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will face opposition candidate and Malé mayor Mohamed Muizzu in the second round on September 30.[6]
- 30 September: 2023 Maldivian presidential election: Maldivians vote in a run-off election between candidates Mohamed Muizzu and Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.[7]
- 01 October: Yameen has been transferred from prison to house arrest after followed the victory of PNC candidate Mohamed Muizzu.[8]
- 13 October: pro-Palestine protests held around the Maldives, showing that the Maldives stands with Palestine. The protest was sparked due to the 2023 Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip.[9]
